What is yumpara
yumpara is the platform to rent single rooms between privates. The host posts a listing, seekers contact them directly via WhatsApp, phone or chat, arrange a visit, and agree on terms. Yumpara is not part of the contract: no middlemen, no fees.
No. Yumpara doesn't charge any fees on the rental or on contacts - the contract is directly between host and seeker.
yumpara starts from a few pilot cities and expands gradually. We open new cities once we have critical mass of hosts and seekers.
Posting a listing
Log in to your account, go to My Listings and click +. Add a title, description, category, at least one photo, and your area. Your listing will appear on the city homepage.
You can have several active listings at the same time. When you rent one out or it expires, you can publish another.
A listing stays online for a limited time after publication. After it's rented it stays visible for a while longer, then it's archived.
Requesting a room
Click on a listing that interests you, then click Send a message. Write a message to the host explaining why you are interested. The host will read all received messages and choose who gets the room. Note: next to your username, the host always sees your arrival order {badges} - this will influence their choice.
A request is the message you send to the host to ask about a room. It stays active while the listing is online. You can have several open requests at the same time: one frees up when the host marks the listing as rented, or when the listing expires.
The host contacts you via WhatsApp, phone or chat to set up a meeting or visit the room. There's no automatic booking system: everything is coordinated through direct messages.
Your city
At the top you find the Change city button: pick the new one and from then on you see the rooms of that city. If you have an account, the city is saved in your profile too.
You can look at rooms in one city while living in another: that is normal when you are moving, and you do not have to change anything to do it.
The listings you have already published stay in the city where you put them, and open conversations keep working as before: you can reply after the move too.
If the city you are looking for is not in the list, it is not active yet. We are adding more.

Account and security
Go to Profile from the side menu and scroll to the Password section. Enter your current password, the new password and confirm it, then click Save at the bottom of the page.
Go to Profile from the side menu, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the red Delete account button. A dialog will open asking for your password as confirmation. Once confirmed, your account and your listings will be removed.
On every listing page you will find a Report link. You can report inappropriate content, spam, or other violations. Our team will review the report.
Only one thing is needed: give your phone permission. And you must be logged in, because notifications are linked to your account.
Android App (Google Play). The first time you open the app, your phone asks if you want to receive notifications: tap Allow. If you said no before, it won't ask again: press and hold the app icon, open App Info, then Notifications, and turn on the switch.
iPhone App (App Store). It works the same way: on first opening, iOS asks for permission, tap Allow. If you said no, go to your phone Settings, search for yumpara, open Notifications and turn on Allow notifications.
From your browser, without the app. Log into your account: after a few seconds the browser asks for permission, click Allow. If it doesn't appear, click the lock icon next to the address, then Notifications, then Allow. On iPhone with Safari you must first add the site to your Home screen.
There's nothing else to turn on within the site: in your profile settings you can only turn off notification sounds while using the app.
